Meowza! Beaver Boots Doesn't Return the Hootie Love

In an interview with D Magazine, Casey Thompson tears into Carla. You have to read the whole thing to get the full flavor, but here are a few tidbits:

Carla was not prepared and in over her head. The show did not talk about how the first course (crab) took her half of the friggin’ cooking time that day, I was left to work the rest of HER dishes....

And where in the hell did french come from!? She is not even classically trained! It (the show) didn’t talk about how I worked on a sauce for 2 days and Carla forgot to put it on the plate… It didn’t show how the 2nd course (fish) was MINE....

I am done with TC. I did not influence her. She has NO ideas of her own, oh, except a cheese course.

What is left to say, possums? Just wow.

UPDATE:

Earlier, we posted only excerpts from Casey’s statements to D Magazine out of professional courtesy, but in the interim, the magazine's server has gone down several times, the article has been flooded with comments, a person claiming to be a friend of Casey’s posted that Casey realizes she went too far in making those statements, and now the post appears (at least temporarily) unavailable. For that reason, below please find the full text of Casey’s statements:

"Carla was not prepared and in over her head. The show did not talk about how the first course (crab) took her half of the friggin’ cooking time that day, I was left to work the rest of HER dishes.

She also did not have a plan. The ONLY thing she had in mind was a cheese course! I would NEVER do a cheese course. And where in the hell did french come from!? She is not even classically trained! It (the show) didn’t talk about how I worked on a sauce for 2 days and Carla forgot to put it on the plate… It didn’t show how the 2nd course (fish) was MINE. It didn’t show how she took the sous vide idea and decided to GRILL it last minute causing it to be tough… And it didn’t show how she WANTED to do the souffles which she does not even know how to make! That was HER food, because it certainly was me asking her how she wanted to do this and that while she was busy picking crab the entire time and making a souffle that didn’t rise!

I am done with TC. I did not influence her. She has NO ideas of her own, oh, except a cheese course."

What a vile, toxic person. Good riddance to her.

As soon as I heard Casey suggest the sous vide, I knew Carla was done. Beaver Boots is a class act all the way.

Bah Bah Casey, go away!!! no class, no dignity .. poor Carla.. I hope her spirit guides go after Casey's lame ass and kick her HARD

The comments after the snippet speak volumes about the appeal of Carla versus Casey.

The fact that Carla was interested in a cheese course, with a cheese tart at that center, would clearly suggest that she's classically trained--meaning French. Hello Casey!!

To borrow Carla's expression, Casey is a "hot mess."

You know, I understand anger at a bad edit, but spreading lies (Carla is French trained - her website has the name of the school and the school website has her posted on the front page) and venom is not the way to make your point.

Plus, as sous chef it is your job to make her dishes.

Oh boy, its mess is much more interesting than the hose's lame win.

(hehe Word verification, right now, is very close to

pfffffffffft)

@Oh boy, its mess is much more interesting than the hose's lame win.

LOL!

I screamed a defiant "Nooooooo!" when Casey suggested sous-vide and Carla thought it was a good idea. 'Twas a sirloin kiss of death. Maybe Carla should have gotten a hint when neither Stefan nor Hosea chose Casey for his sous chef.

What a bitch. I never liked her anyway.

Casey, you are dead to me. Oh, wait. You were already dead to me for your hate on Top Chef: Chicago. So, here goes: I'll resurrect you. Now, BITCH, you are dead to me again. How totally classless can one human being be?

Someone at TWOP said of course, you're supposed to sear the sous vide'd steak after it cooks because otherwise it looks like raw meat. If that person is correct, Casey makes herself really look the fool.

Meanwhile Carla keeps up her class act.

Is it just me, or is Casey one of those people no one wanted to take to the prom who then complained about it being only for losers? Oh wait, that was me.

Casey still effing sucks! EFF HER!!! Her and her Frenchier-than thou-attitude. I won't even tell you what she can do with that failed souffle.

Instead I'll insert some Carla-inspired cosmic love here. xox

Yikes. What a holy freaking beeyotch this Casey is. Her chef lost, and yeah, she got the bad edit, but PLEASE. No dignity or respect whatsoEver.

Lance said...

Congrats Casey for being the only chef to ever choke in the finals TWICE! And then to have the class to throw Carla under the bus for making your dishes just shows what a class act you are....C U Next Tuesday...

Please, Amuse Biatch, post the entire Casey interview from D Magazine. The "Side Dish" blog where this apparently appeared is not available. Are they being bombarded with too much traffic or is there pro-Casey damage control going on? I can get to the magazine site online and other features open, but not the one featuring Casey. You'd be doing many of us latecomers a big favor by posting the whole thing.

BTW, I really enjoy all of the extra material you dig up and present to TC fans. It sheds a lot of additional light on the show, plus is very amusing.

Well she might be done with TC but i was done with her dramatic ass a LONG time ago. What an ASS!

Captain Obvious finds:

It funny that she's the only person to ever choke twice in the finals as Lance also pointed out.

Captain Obvious also finds it funny that she complained about Hung(who is 10000 times a better chef than her)using sous vide so many times in season 3 to cook things. Then in the season 3 finale, she sous vides a (lol) gala apple and now in this finale, the steak.

Lance said...

Oh come on people- let's not cover Casey in a "guilt blanket" ;) for her role in Carla's demise...does anyone else remember this comment from her after she almost got Howie and Joey axed in a team challenge in which she had immunity. Yet she still had to put her two cents in as to the menu and her ideas led directly to their finish on the bottom.

Is there time to revoke my vote for Casey as fan favorite? Dayum.

Check out this older interview, where she disses Season 4 and talks about them losing their cool. How about losing your dignity in print...

There's an interview which put her in a worse light. She's very nice when she's winning. However I don't think she's the most gracious loser.
