I could barely watch my recording of last night's episode, and when the TiFaux asked me "Do you want to permanently erase this recording?" and I entered "yes" I thought, "And while you're at it, erase my memories of this entire season." What a bunch of asswipes.
I was surprised Sam won "Fan Favorite" because I was sure Marcel's Lunatic Legion over at TWoP would have wrapped up that win for the l'il twerp.
I have to admit, the guy cleans up nicely. Remove the beanies and greasy long hair and you actually have a very good looking guy underneath.
While I can be as superficial as the next, looks alone are not enough to make me cheer for him. I'm still rooting for the freak, Astroboy and his crack-spoon culinary shenanigans.
Haaa, just goes to show that the 50-100 people that go on all these TC blogs and TWoP don't count as popular opinion. On the poll last night, close to 80% of viewers wanted Marcel out, yet if you check out the websites you've got like the same 30 people posting under 8 names giving little Marcel verbal blow jobs on every freaking TC related website out there. Funny. They're as (or more, since they don't even actually KNOW any of them and haven't had to live with them) weirdly obsessed with Ilan, Elia, Sam et al as they claim Ilan to be about Marcel.
many many congrats to amuse-biatch for being mentioned in "ragayby andy"'s chat fest after top chef! you're both the bee's knees!!
i'm not a TC purist in that I often fall asleep during the initial viewing and figure i'll watch one of the 4000 broadcasts to follow in the next week and beyond.
however this week i did manage to trudge through about half and on the repeat, i noticed yet another Bravo edit from the original.
when the cheftestants arrive at their hotel room, they're greeted by bottles of Korbel. marcel remarked they were treated to "fine champagne".
first - Korbel isn't champagne. it's a sparking white wine. only wine from the Champagne region of France is actually Champagne, a difference a chef from a top restaurant would notice.
second - Korbel? i can see Vieve Cliquot or Crystalle being fine or even a California sparkling wine like a Shramsburg. but Korbel? oh, of course, Korbel is a sponser.
to noone's surprise, Marcel's utterance was deleted from the following airing of the episode.
i'm not blaming Marcel. he may have even been prompted to utter his initial statement. i also don't blame the producers. time is tight and they have sponser obligations to fulfill.
but didn't the editors see this as a problem? knowing how precise and attentive the viewers are (especially given the recent inconsistancies with Hairgate) , couldn't they see how this might have been questionable and nipped the issue in the bud?
overall not an important issue. but in the broader pic of TC's integrity, it's not one that some of us will shun aside.

I sort of threw up a little in my mouth when it was announced that Sam was fan favorite.

Florence King. Nuff said.
He certainly wasn't *this* fan's favorite. What a joke.

I don't believe Sam won...it's unbelievable.

Anon 10:42, I'm enjoying the thought of you throwing up in your mouth.
Hahaha
A bit off topic, but it would appear that the brilliant Achewood web comic has given a nod to Marcel in today's strip.
