Marcel Vigneron: Bizarre Love Triangle

Like herpes, the folie à deux that is the relationship between Marcel Vigneron and Ilan Hall is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Though we are faithfully delving into our Freud, Jung and Lacan, and will concoct a cherry jubilee of an armchair psychologist's explanation for the seething, simmering, scintillating tsuris, here is a snippet from Raggaydy Andy's interview with Marcel that may go a long way toward explaining things:
Another thing is that a lot of them are two-faced to me. In the first episode, Ilan and I were showing each other our knives, he was interested in my knives and asking me questions about my knives and how to keep them from rusting. I got home and watch the first episode and he's calling me out! I couldn't believe it. Does that answer your question in a roundabout way? I can't totally put my finger on it because I think I am a likeable guy.
In parting, Mia Gaines-Alt told Cliff to "put [his] dick away," but it looks like she was aiming her comments in the wrong direction. Wasn't this a whole subplot in Heathers? Hell truly hath no fury....

"I think I am a likeable guy"

This made me lol. Marcel annoys the everloving shit out of me. Not that I'm in love with any of the rest or even liking many of them at this point, but goddamn does Marcel for some reason seem so tiresome and grating to me.

Anonymous ... I love you. You're the only other person besides me, it seems, who sees right through this puerile petit merde.

Oh, pardon my French. I meant little shit.

yeah marcel is a lot cooler than the other guys on the show who are just a tad over top arrogant and hypocritical in my opinion, they are grating to me, i think the thing that is annoying about marcel is he not that modest, which can be off setting

"This didn't air, but he had to make this dish about lust and I told him that he's never lusted after a woman, all he does is go home and jerk off thinking about Joël Robuchon."

Watching the whole season to be honest I think Marcel was one of the more likeable characters,
Betty was an intolerable old wretch, honestly isnt she just an anoying waste of oxygen, so hideous inside and out, with an anoying fake grin that you sincerely hope a mack truck wipes of her face. I thought elia was gorgeous and a good cook, although I thought it was pretty week of her to be turned against marcel through her obvious infatuation with ilan,. Ilan was a one dimensional chef, its a real shame it wasnt sam vs marcel in the final, it would have been better cooking, marcel was hard done by, a much more skilled chef then ilan

Always thought Marcel was the hero of "Top Chef". He handled himself much more maturely than some of the other contestants, who will remain unnamed. Love the hair, love the food, love Marcel. Innovative, inspired, and bold!
