Padma Lakshmi's Alliterative Assault on Spice Rack?

"Also the savory and sweet layering of Sam's flavors [during the Quickfire Challenge] was more sumptuous and inviting bite after bite than Betty's green grub. Betty lost sight of the taste, the presentaion [sic], everything. I know it's only half an hour, but so? Her competitors came up with much more interesting, and delicious and adventurous plates."

We wonder, is it merely coincidence that Betty "Spice Rack" Fraser's restaurant is called Grub?

Betty's "tamale" reminded me very much of these:

I thought her 'tude towards Ted Allen in the Quickfire was very unprofessional, but I wasn't surprised -- we've all been seeing thru Betty's "morning kisses!" smile for weeks. It's a good thing she's got her own restaurant, because she clearly isn't equipped to handle criticism - or get along with people she didn't hire herself. (*Still* obsessing on Marcel? C'mon!) And yes, Betty, you DID use Splenda. Glad to see her gone!

What the heck was that thing she cooked up in the quickfire? It looked something like the face-grabber thing from the movie Alien. It certainly wouldn't look delicious to anybody other than a hardcore vegan.

as a hardcore vegan I can assure you - it didn't look remotely delicious. It looked just the way Ted Allen described it.
